Maria & Chad in Burleigh Falls

Woodhouse Photography

A few weeks back I had the pleasure of doing an engagement shoot (e-shoot) with some really cool clients getting married in Lakefield, 2010.  The weather was a perfect fall day, and Burleigh Falls was beautiful as always.  For those that haven’t been to Burleigh Falls (just a short drive North of Peterborough), it is worth your time to do an afternoon drive out for ice cream either in the fall (for the colours) or in the spring after the snow has melted when the water rushing through that part of the Trent Severn can be quite impressive.

Thanks guys, I had a great time and can’t wait until your wedding next year!

Andrea & Ian @ Westwind – Another Kawartha Gem

Woodhouse Photography

This October I was at a fantastic wedding @ the exclusive Westwind Resort here in beautiful Buckhorn. Andrea & Ian’s wedding was well planned and from what I observed Westwind did everything like a seasoned pro.

The outdoor beach ceremony was beautiful; with the exception of a typical summer 3 minute shower just as Andrea was going to start the walk to the beach. Fortunately the rain was brief and the ceremony continued without further cruel Mother Nature tricks.

I had a great day with this couple and their family and friends. They were all there to have fun and that is exactly what they did. I believe the brief summary of images here illustrate that well. Thank you guys for entrusting in me to be your wedding photographer.

Ian was mesmerized by how beautiful Andrea looked. This image shows quite beautifully how he felt as he looked at her.

The guys were wanting to climb up on a small rock/cliff that was next to the area we had just shot the family formals. I am up for anything, so said ’sure, climb up and well do some cool images’. Now what are the chances that one of the fellows will fall down the cliff? Looks like the chances were pretty good. :) They were standing around and having fun between shots when I look up and one fellow is sliding uncontrollably down the front of the small cliff. You can’t tell by these images but they were fairly high up. So the fellows formed a chain and pulled him back up. No harm done (except to his ego maybe).

For the photographers out there, the image below was shot @ ISO 3200 @ F1.7 @ 1/60. A wicked example of what fast glass on a killer DSLR body like the D700 can do. A little post processing to blur the edges to draw your attention on Andrea and Ian was all that was done for this one. Awesome!

Andrea told me in advance that after her slow dance with her father that Bob Seger’s ‘Old Time Rock and Roll’ was going to be played and it is his favorite song and he can’t help himself and dances like there’s no tomorrow. So she told me to be ready. I was ready and she was right. He loves that song and everyone with him loved that he loved it. They had a blast and it was great to witness and capture it for them. I got lots of great images of them dancing, this is just one. Never stop dancing guys!

Florence Family Shoot

Woodhouse Photography

A continuation from our Sept 23rd post, here is the other side of my buddy Scotts family. A week before this session we shot his wifes family as seen in the Sept 23rd post (their family farm in Omemee). However, today we are at his parents beautiful home in Youngs Point/Lakefield area, just a short drive north east of Peterborough.

What can I say …. ? I think the images pretty much sum up our fun time together.

Thanks Florence family! It was a lot of fun.

A bit of an inside joke for the Florence family … and a bit of a pet-peeve for at least one of them …

Ah …. you have to be impressed with the sibling love they share
