Nikki & Joe in Buckhorn

At the start of this month I had the pleasure of shooting the wedding of Nicole McWhirter and Joseph Conway. I could not have asked for a more convenient location, as everything took place right in Buckhorn, walking distance from my home! Also, I could not have asked for a better family to work with as everyone was laid back and there to simply enjoy the day. And it was a great day. The weather was a beautiful early summer day which is what Nikki ordered as her ceremony was an outside event.

Thank you guys for selecting me to be your wedding photographer. I truly enjoyed myself. And good luck this weekend moving into your first home!!!

Here are some of my favorites from the day …

I love this one below!!

This one below turned out great. I feel it represents their ceremony perfectly.

A very handsome young man!

The image below needs a bit of an explanation. It is a combination of 5 images. Because of the strong overhead sun the scene was very contrasty. So 4 images were taken at different exposures and then combined to give a HDR image of the scene (without Nikki in it). Then I had Nikki run across several times as I shot her in the scene. Then in post processing I combined the 4 image HDR of the scene with one of the shots of Nikki that I thought worked best. Then worked on her transparency to give a ghostly effect and then aged the image. If was fun.

Thanks guys for entertaining me while I worked on this shot and to Nikki for being patient as I kept having her running back and forth while I snapped different images! It’s truly unique!

When I saw these clouds overhead in town, had to grab the camera and capture it.

Well the family has grown by one more. A Labradoodle. Her mother is a Chocolate Lab, her father is a black Standard Poodle. Her physical characteristics are more to her mothers Lab than her fathers Poodle.

Her name … “Pip” … which is short for Pippin. Lord of the Rings geeks will know that name. :)

You can see from the images that her big sister, Ember (our 2yr old Brittany Spaniel) was quite interested in her new baby sister when we brought her home on Saturday.

I hope this dog isn’t a chewer …..
