orlando and … ‘The Disney’
![]()
A couple weeks back was our families big trip to Orlando, Florida. Six full days in the state. This gave us three days at Walt Disney World, and three days for other “stuff”. The other “stuff” consisted of a trip to North America’s oldest town St. Augustine, some shopping and some water sliding at Wet’n Wild!
Our first day in Disney was Magic Kingdom and it rained for most of the day. Our very overpriced rain poncho’s we purchased at Magic Kingdom earned their value as they did a good job of keeping us dry. Due to the cool day and rain, Magic Kingdom was not busy. We walked right onto every ride and right into every show. ZERO line ups! A pretty nice reward for putting up with less than stellar weather. Not many pic’s were taken at Magic Kingdom because of the rain, but I managed to get a few (and they were pretty drab and grey). All other days of our trip had great weather (the other two Disney parks we visited were Epcot and Hollywood Studios).
I should comment that we only spent around 4 hours in St. Augustine and both Sandy and I felt like we missed out. With this towns old European influence it is incredibly rich with photo opportunities. I could have taken two days of walking around shooting and Sandy would have enjoyed the time to see everything this historical town has to offer. (mental note for next time … allow minimum 1 full day in St. Augustine).
Here are some highlights from our week in the sunny south.
