August 14th took me to the end of Fife’s Bay Road for the wedding of Stacy & Casey. A great, easy going couple that had a fantastic lake front wedding at her parents Peterborough home.

The weather was perfect for an outdoor ceremony; a bit overcast and a light breeze off the lake. To our luck, the light shower that passed over hit just seconds after we walked into the tent for dinner. Dinner was great and the dancing was crazy. I believe they tripped the breaker to the power only once! A rock’n party goes dead silent awfully fast when everything goes black. LOL I would post some of the dancing images I shot but I think it would embarrass those in the pictures. I’ll leave those for in their private gallery.

This month took me 10 minutes east of downtown Bancroft to the excellent, simple and beautiful wedding of Heather and Chris. Their families cottage is on quiet side road, on a small isolated lake. A beautiful Kawartha setting. And unlike the Saturdays in July, we did not see rain on their wedding.

The very small guest list, the intimate ceremony on the dock and the great meal catered by Peterborough’s ‘A Movable Feast’ all combined to create a fantastic way to spend a Saturday.

Yes, it was a very hot July. But on this Saturday in July, it wasn’t heat but rain. And lots of it. Deer Creek Golf Course in Ajax is a beautiful location. Their clubhouse is BIG. There were 3 other weddings taking place at the time I was there for Amy and Mac’s wedding. And all 4 ceremonies and receptions were taking place in the clubhouse. There was a very nice outdoor spot next to the clubhouse for outdoor ceremonies. Beautiful gardens all around and a gazebo. We were hoping the rain would stop so we could use the outdoor location, but it didn’t. However … after their indoor ceremony the rain held off just long enough to go outside for family formals.

A big thank you to Amy and Mac for selecting Woodhouse Photography to handle their wedding photography. Deer Creek is a beautiful location. The day was a load of fun, the dinner was excellent and the party after everything was all said and done was great.
